Hi, I’m madivad…

…otherwise known as Dave in the real world. I am an IT go to guy, usually the first person anyone in my family calls when they can’t change the time on their clock or they can’t turn their phone on. I’ve been hacking away at the interwebs* since the late 90s and have seen many technologies come and go.

I am a web developer starting with HTML (obviously) and dabbled (but never really succeeded at JS) and feel much more comfortable in PHP. Just about everything on the web these days is PHP based, you have to feel sorry for those ASP.NET boys.

Before the internet, I wrote software for many applications, one of which included the music database and serving of music live to air for a community radio station. Not such a big deal today as there are now many pieces of software that will allow you to do the same thing today… For FREE! I originally sunk my teeth into Microsoft’s Visual Basic (VB5) and went onto Visual Basic 6 and almost died when Microsoft cut their this with the advent of dotNet. It was a good turn of events as this was the time that I really started looking at other languages and getting into the internet.

Now, I’m semi-retired and living between Thailand and Australia, depending where funds, the season, and my wife allow.

I am currently working on several WordPress blogs and developing templates, themes and plugins to suit whatever needs arise at any given time.

Enough about all that, you have probably come here as a result of me giving you this website address, the idea being you can contact me so that we can swap email addresses or the like. Jump over to the “Contact” page and you can send me a message. All going well I should get back to you within 24 hours.

Otherwise, you can go visit my blog at: dav3.net

See you around sometime.

Dave

* I heard someone refer to the internet as the interwebs a few years back, and it has stuck with me ever since.
